@The Department of Fisheries consists of four laboratories, listed below, and a Fihseries Research Station. Fisheries are concerned with chemical and technological studies on marine food products, fisheries oceanography, roles of microorganisms in the ecosystems of the sea and lakes, marine biotechnology and the taxonomy, distribution and life histories of aquatic animals. The Department provides the fundamental principles and methods of fisheries secience related to biological productioin in the sea and lakes, physical environment of aquatic organisms, fish farming and utilization of fisheries products.
